Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to get a visa?

It is difficult to estimate how long it takes to get a visa. The processing time depends on the visa type, the country you are a citizen of and how complicated your particular case is.

Once we have decided which visa you are eligible for, we can provide you with a reasonable time estimate. To make the process as quick as possible, we would expect you to promptly provide us with the information and documents we need from you.

What happens if I want to apply for a new visa while I am in Australia and my existing visa is about to run out?

In certain circumstances, we can arrange for you to remain in Australia while a decision is being made on your new visa application.

How much does a visa application cost and what am I paying for?

An Australian Government application fee applies to all visas. This fee varies, depending on the visa type and the number of family members included in the application.

You will need to pay our professional, legal and lodgement fees, which also vary depending on the visa type.

In addition, you may need to pay other fees such as:

  • Medical fees.

  • Skills assessment fee.

  • Police clearance certificates.

  • Costs charged by your local authority to provide relevant documents, such as your birth certificate.

We will tell you in detail the costs that apply before you get us to act on your behalf.

Can you guarantee that I will obtain a visa?

Nobody can guarantee that you will receive a visa. By law, Migration Agents are not permitted to guarantee you a visa since the decision to grant a visa rests with the Australian Government.

Can I bring my family?

Yes, when you apply for a visa, your partner and dependent children (who would normally be under 18 years of age) can be included on your visa application.
